Dear all,

I just got down from the mountain and found out that my gmail and facebook accounts have been compromised. I was climbing Aconcagua from 12/28 to 1/11. During the time period, if you received anything from either account, please discard it. I’m working on retrieving my accounts back, but it will take a while. Sorry for any inconvenience.

As for the result of climbing. My team reached 21,250 ft, turned around because of weather, and therefore didn’t summit Aconcagua.

    I got my accounts back with Jeremy’s help. I hope that nobody has lost any money to the person who posed as me. I’ll call West Union soon and figure things out.

    So sorry about Aconcagua. But you got down safe. And that is more important than the summit.

    Hi Szu-Ting,

    I know you don’t know me, but I am a friend of Jeremy’s from Drexel. I found your site through Facebook, and I’m really impressed at your climbing skills! I am moving to Argentina in February so I am tuned into events there. I know that climbers have died on Aconcagua these past couple weeks, so I’m glad you made it down safely. Best of luck to you in your endeavors.

    We’re gald you are all back safe. The weather there sounds like it was very challenging.
    Some summits are so very elusive…
    Looking forward to your trip report as we’re sure it was still a great adventure.

    @katie,
    thank you for visiting. that’s right, people died. I saw rangers dragging a body down when we moved up to the high camp (Camp 2). And then the next day, another ranger told us that 5 were missing and then they found the 5 the next day but at the time 3 of them already passed away. I wasn’t sure whether the other 2 survived… it seemed not, unfortunately. It was weird for me to see the body. Hearing bad news is one thing and seeing a real dead body is another. Our team made a conservative but right decision. I was proud of our team.

    @scienceguy288,
    @DSD,
    thank you for your comments, I do have much to tell. I’ll try to sort out my journal as soon as possible and share my stories with you!

    Hi Szu-ting,
    I am so glad that you are okay. When “you” contacted me and said that you needed me sending money to you because you were robbed at London airport, as I chatted more with “you”, I thought it was very fishy… And when I asked “you” to give me more information so that I can help, “you” stopped chatting… Then I knew it was a bit suspioius… But I was still a bit worried, what if it’s really you? Then I would feel guilty not ablt to help.

    Anyway, glad to know you are doing just fine and nothing bad happened! I later removed you from my facebook account after that incident. Now that you got your account back, please add me back on. 🙂

    Take care!
